Classic Lauren Bacall scenes from “The Sopranos,” “The Mirror Has Two Faces” & “To Have & Have Not”

Obviously I’m still processing the death of Lauren Bacall who died last week at age 89.

I just have so much admiration for her and her memoir, By Myself, was the first celebrity autobiography I ever read – bought a paperback from Alpha Beta supermarket where it was on display at the end of an aisle.

So over the years, I’d watch all her interviews and was fortunate enough to interview her twice myself – the first time telling her about the Alpha Beta purchase.

Anyway, Miss Bacall always felt she wasn’t recognized as much of an actress in films (the stage was another matter). But she clearly accomplished a lot and was never better than in two of these scenes below: the mother-daughter heart-to-heart in The Mirror Has Two Faces and the scene from her film debut in To Have and Have Not where she instructs Bogie on just how to whistle.

And just for kicks, I led off with her very memorable cameo from The Sopranos – as herself and quite fucking foul mouthed!

BONUS VIDEO: Miss Bacall talks about Confidential Agent, the early film that almost sunk her career so soon after her debut in To Have and Have Not. She starred in it opposite Charles Boyer.
