Tonight is the night for Hairspray Live! and if you aren’t invited to a viewing party, have your own!

It’s already it’s in the running for the gayest TV show of the year and you will see why by tuning into NBC tonight.

The great Harvey Fierstein reprises his Tony Award winning Broadway role of Edna Turnblad) and newcomer Maddie Baillio has the plum role of Tracy – a role that made stars of out Ricki Lake (original film) and
Marissa Jaret Winokur (Broadway) who we will be seeing in cameos tonight.

The rest of the cast includes Ariana Grande (Penny Pingleton), Jennifer Hudson (Motormouth Maybelle), Kristin Chenoweth (Velma Von Tussle), Martin Short (Wilbur Turnblad), Derek Hough (Corny Collins), Dove Cameron (Amber Von Tussle), Garrett Clayton (Link Larkin), Andrea Martin (Prudy Pingleton), Ephraim Sykes (Seaweed J. Stubbs), and Shahadi Wright Joseph (Little Inez).

Representing the gays proudly are Billy Eichner as a local TV newscaster named Rob Barker who reports on bubbly white teenager Tracy Turnblad and her escape from the law as she attempts to integrate the TV dance competition known as The Corny Collins Show.

In addition, Rosie O’Donnell plays the gym teacher) and Sean Hayes is Mr. Pinky). The executive producers of the production are the openly gay team of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
