Valerie Harper health update: Beloved star’s husband told by doctors to put his wife into hospice care

This is very, very sad.

Valerie Harper’s husband of 32 years, Tony Cacciotti, posted this about his wife on social media today:

I have been told by doctors to put Val in Hospice care and I can’t [because of our 40 years of shared commitment to each other] and I won’t because of the amazing good deeds she has graced us with while she’s been here on earth.

We will continue going forward as long as the powers above allow us, I will do my very best in making Val as comfortable as possible.

I remember meeting her as a kid with fellow students from my drama dept. we were watching a show that she was part of and after the taping when most of the audience left we remained in our seats and she met up with us. she was so lovely, kind and engaged with us… a bunch of goofy high school students. it made such an impact on me. i hope her end days are peaceful.

  3. So sad!…She was so great as Rhoda a real force of the time the in the great 70′s television.
Her husband is Tony is the best…thinking about him.

  4. Please keep us updated. She has super fans including myself.

    Thank you, Celeste

  5. Sad, I believe she is in good hand with an angel at her side.

  6. she will continue to be in my nightly prayers. Peace and love to her and Tony.
